Industries We Ship & Clear For

Eight industries · Gujarat cargo

Which industries does RP International work with?

RP International ships and clears cargo for eight industries: ceramic tiles, agri and rice, chemicals and petrochemicals, textiles and apparel, engineering and auto components, metals and scrap, pharmaceuticals, and project and renewable energy. Each has its own documents, packing and ports, which the industry pages set out.

These are the cargoes that move through Mundra and Kandla every day: Morbi tiles going out, scrap and machinery coming in. Knowing the documents each one needs is what keeps a container from being held. Each industry page sets out the ports, packing and documents for that cargo, and the trade lanes it moves on.

Cargo profile

How does each industry's cargo ship?

Direction, packing and container type for each commodity. These decide the cost as much as the freight rate does.

Choosing

What changes from one industry to the next?

Three things differ by commodity, and each one can hold a container if it is wrong.

Documents

Food needs plant health certificates, chemicals need safety data sheets, and scrap needs an inspection certificate issued before loading.

Packing

Tiles and castings fill a container by weight; textiles fill it by space. Chemicals need approved drums, IBCs or ISO tanks.

Ports

Chemicals cluster at Dahej and Hazira, scrap and bulk at Kandla, and containers of most kinds at Mundra.

Temperature

Pharmaceuticals and some food ship at a labelled range, by reefer or air, with the range checked at every hand-over.

Regulators

Each commodity has its own authority: plant quarantine for food, BIS for covered products, drug regulators for medicines.

Export incentives

Some schemes are claimed on the shipping bill. Declared wrongly, the benefit is lost, so we check the scheme before filing.

Why RP International

Why ship your industry's cargo with a team at the port?

Commodity rules are enforced at the port: a missing certificate or a wrong HS code is found at examination. Being there means we see it first and answer it the same day. We check the HS code, licences and packing rules for each commodity before the cargo reaches the port, not after an officer raises a query.

FAQ

Industries questions

Commodities, documents and the ports they use.

Not sure where to start?

The desk is open 24 hours.

Which industry ships most through Mundra?

Ceramic tiles from Morbi are one of the largest export flows, shipped mostly in 20ft containers to West Africa, the Gulf and beyond.

Why do different cargoes need different documents?

Customs and the destination country regulate products differently: food needs plant health certificates, chemicals need safety data, scrap needs inspection. The HS code decides which rules apply.

Do you handle hazardous chemicals?

Yes. Hazardous cargo needs an MSDS, a dangerous goods declaration and IMDG-compliant packing and labels. We check them before filing.

Do you clear metal scrap imports?

Yes, mostly at Kandla and Mundra. Scrap needs a pre-shipment inspection certificate issued before loading, and some steel imports need registration or BIS certification.

Can you ship temperature-controlled pharmaceuticals?

Yes, by air or in reefer containers at the labelled temperature range. The buyer's product registration and our documents are checked before shipping.

Do you handle wind blades and project cargo?

Yes. Project and renewable energy cargo covers route surveys, permits, specialised trailers and port handling at Mundra and Kandla.

My industry is not listed. Can you still help?

Yes. These are the cargoes we handle most, not the only ones. Send the product and HS code and we will confirm the documents and ports.

What is an HS code and why does it matter?

The HS code classifies your product for customs. It decides the duty, any licence or certificate, and the export incentives, so a wrong code can mean a hold or a penalty.
